Rethinking Disabilities

21 Oct 2013: Are the ways disabilities are seen correct? Can there be a new approach that can assist people to understand disabilities better? What fresh approach would give more understanding to disabilities?

Whilst scanning the internet to find an idea to write about I stumbled upon http://www2.le.ac.uk/departments/museumstudies/rcmg/projects/rethinking-disability-representation-1. The Museum and Galleries Studies had some awesome projects that helped people rethink disabilities.

What caught my eye about this article was the photo of the face with all the words on it. Is this really what people think when they see us? I am sure that these words do cross people's minds. This piece of photographic art brings to the forefront what people may unconsciously think and it is important to bring to people's consciousness what they can then process to rethink and get a better understanding of how they can see people with disabilities.
