Can-Do-Ability: Answers and Solutions from my personal experiences of living with a disability

Hoarding

5 Dec 2012Hoarding is very different from collecting. Hoarding is very dangerous especially when fires breakout and the occupants need rescuing.

There is actually a TV show on hoarding that can be found here: http://www.tlc.com/tv-shows/hoarding-buried-alive

Each show has people share how they got to become hoarders and how it has become overwhelming and has invaded there life so much that it has debilitated them and made their home unliveable.

No rubbish is ever thrown away. Shame build, people are shut out and people become prisoners in their home.

One person stated that the trauma of loss and neglect started there hoarding.

The show works on creating a clean, safe place and helps them work through there issues to release some of the hoarding.
