Can-Do-Ability: Answers and Solutions from my personal experiences of living with a disability

Bank of America Charged with Discriminating Against Homebuyers with Disabilities

22 Jan 2013Two people were discriminated against when they went to apply for a loan with Bank of America

As was discussed in an online story: http://portal.hud.gov/hudportal/HUD?src=/press/press_releases_media_advisories/2012/HUDNo.12-036

Both people were asked to provide information about their disabilities which was considered illegal as financial positions are what matters, not how disabled someone is.

If a disabled person has held down a steady job in the past and has ticked all the boxes regarding finances, disabilities should not be looked into.

I think that it is great that Bank of America have been pulled up on their mistakes.
